Customers participate in the recycled bag rental event at GO! Hue Supermarket

During the two days of the event (October 18 and 19), customers coming to GO! Hue Supermarket will be able to participate in a convenient bag rental model with only a deposit of VND 10,000/bag and will be 100% refunded when returning the bag on the next shopping trip. In addition, customers can participate in fun interactive games to receive unique gifts from WWF-Vietnam and GO! Hue.

The event marks an important step in providing convenient solutions for consumers, towards implementing a roadmap to eliminate single-use plastic bags in supermarkets and shopping malls after 2025.

The entire bag is handmade from old banners and posters by the skillful hands and determination of students at My Lam Charity School for the Disabled ( An Giang ). This activity not only gives a new "life cycle" to plastic waste but also contributes to creating sustainable livelihoods, empowering the unfortunate in society.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang, representative of WWF-Vietnam, shared: “The bag rental model is a practical solution, not only helping consumers easily practice a green lifestyle but also connecting the community in a meaningful activity. The act of renting a bag in Hue today is contributing to expanding efforts to protect the environment, for a sustainable future.”

The TVA project is funded by WWF-Norway through the World Wildlife Fund in Vietnam (WWF-Vietnam) and received by the People's Committee of Hue City with the goal of supporting the city to protect rivers and wetland and coastal ecosystems from plastic waste pollution. The project will be implemented for 5 years, from 2021-2025.
