More than 2,000 households and 56 deaths caused by storm Bualoi have received emergency support from Vingroup.

After nearly 5 days of urgently deploying relief work and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 (Bualoi), nearly 600 Vingroup employees conducted surveys in 15 provinces, directly supporting 2,032 households whose houses had their roofs blown off or damaged, and 56 families whose members died due to the storm.

With the spirit of "leaving no one behind" , Thien Tam Fund has expanded its support to groups of people with special difficulties, including:

  • Families with especially difficult circumstances and no income include: Single parents with young children; lonely elderly people; Families with seriously ill members; Orphans under 16 years old. House damage >= 50%.
  • Families with members infected with Agent Orange generation F1; Families with disabled members. House damage level >=50%.

After expanding the criteria, Thien Tam Fund sent working groups to continue surveying in 15 provinces, including : Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Son La, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh , Cao Bang, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen and Hai Phong.

Although the damaged area is widespread and traffic is cut off, thanks to the efforts and determination of nearly 600 Vingroup staff and volunteers participating in the survey, the work of statistics, verification and transfer of support money is still carried out continuously, accurately and promptly. On average, each day, Thien Tam Fund reviews and approves more than 1,300 households for support payment, and continues to update the list of cases in need of additional relief.

Currently, with information support from local people, Thien Tam Fund has mobilized forces to key storm-hit areas such as Ha Tinh , Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, and expanded to the northern mountainous provinces to promptly share difficulties with the people.

Mr. Ly Minh Tuan (Director of Thien Tam Fund, Vingroup Corporation) who is on the way to provide relief shared: “With all efforts and attempts; with the spirit of not leaving anyone behind, Thien Tam Fund reviews provinces and localities, records and immediately supports cases and families affected by storm No. 10 Bualoi. There are some provinces that have completed relief work such as Quang Tri, but we still review to ensure everyone is helped, including the expanded subjects. At this time, storm No. 11 is approaching the coast of our country, causing heavy rain, risk of landslides, and difficulties on top of difficulties, but we still continue our work, through the rain, through the storm to stand side by side with people in overcoming the consequences after the storm”./.
