Merging the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang City

Attending the event were Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Tran Thi Man and Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee Pham Thi Thao Nguyen.

Poet Nguyen Nho Khiem, Chairman of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang City, announced Decision No. 899/QD-UBND dated August 5, 2025 of the City People's Committee on allowing the merger of associations assigned by the Party and the State, along with the instructions of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Department of Home Affairs related to the merger.

Accordingly, the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang City (old) and the Literature and Arts Association of Quang Nam Province (old) were merged into the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang City (new).

The conference announced the decisions to recognize the Executive Board, Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Inspection Board of the Danang City Union of Literature and Arts Associations. Accordingly, the Executive Board of the Danang City Union of Literature and Arts Associations for the 2024-2029 term after the merger has 19 members; the Standing Committee has 6 members; the Inspection Board has 5 members. Poet Nguyen Nho Khiem holds the position of Chairman of the Danang City Union of Literature and Arts Associations; poet Phan Chin and researcher Dinh Thi Trang hold the position of Vice Chairmen.

The conference also announced the decisions to recognize the Executive Board, the Inspection Board and the list of members of 9 professional associations under the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang City after the merger. Accordingly, the list of the Executive Board of 9 professional associations for the 2023-2028 term includes 85 members and 1,491 associate members.

Of which, the Architects Association has 584 members, the Dance Association has 98 members, the Cinema Association has 50 members, the Theater Association has 115 members, the Art Photography Association has 113 members, the Writers Association has 198 members, the Fine Arts Association has 121 members, the Music Association has 112 members and the Folk Arts Association has 81 members.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Tran Thi Man affirmed that this is a new starting event of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang city, specialized associations after the merger of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city.

The city has issued decisions to recognize associations, while the special associations are awaiting guidance from the Central Government. In the coming time, the city will proceed to rearrange and reorganize the apparatus of associations and special associations.

Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Tran Thi Man shared that, in the general trend, associations and special associations strive together for the goal of preserving and promoting the identity of the new Da Nang city, together with Da Nang unions and organizations, all social classes join hands to build and foster the values of material and spiritual life, build a strong national solidarity bloc, for a Da Nang city that develops in all aspects.
