Mobilizing all resources to support people to stabilize their lives after storms and floods

On September 26, Soc Son district held a conference to review the response to storm No. 3, deploy tasks to overcome consequences and support reconstruction after natural disasters.

Delegates from Hanoi City and Soc Son District attended the conference.

According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son District Do Minh Tuan, storm No. 3 has affected the entire district. Floods on Cau River and Ca Lo River have caused flooding in 13 communes, isolating 3 residential areas. The district has not recorded any human casualties; property damage is insignificant. In particular, the safety of dykes and key, vulnerable areas has been maintained.

In the context of complicated flood situation, the Standing Committee of Soc Son District Party Committee and People's Committee promptly directed to support and help more than 1,700 households with nearly 8,000 people to evacuate; at the same time, ensuring essential conditions for people during the shelter period. Up to now, all people have returned home safely.

On-site logistics and rescue work were directed strongly by Soc Son district. In particular, a response order was issued from the district budget to ensure the lives of people in communes directly affected by floods on the rivers. About 6 billion VND was also arranged by the district to ensure the necessary conditions for the lives of people in localities affected by floods...

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of Soc Son District Party Committee Bui Duy Cuong highly appreciated the proactive, decisive and timely spirit in responding to storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm of the Party committees, authorities, departments and units at all levels. The direction work was carried out by all levels with scientific methods, close to the actual situation before, during and after the storm and floods.

Secretary of Soc Son District Party Committee Bui Duy Cuong also praised the high proactive spirit of people in low-lying areas and riverside areas during the recent floods. Many groups and individuals in the district also promoted the spirit of mutual love and support, actively supporting the forces on duty. Thanks to that, they contributed to minimizing the damage caused by storms and floods.

In the coming days, Secretary of Soc Son District Party Committee Bui Duy Cuong requested departments and units to continue to coordinate with communes affected by floods and rains to focus on reviewing and assessing the damage caused by natural disasters. Mobilize all resources and prioritize support to help people overcome the consequences, rebuild after natural disasters, and soon stabilize their lives.

Secretary of Soc Son District Party Committee Bui Duy Cuong also requested specialized units to review, inspect, compile statistics and make proposals to prioritize investment in upgrading disaster prevention and control infrastructure, especially the dyke and irrigation systems, in communes frequently affected by storms, floods and inundation. At the same time, continue to do a good job of prevention and control according to the "4 on-site" motto to proactively respond to natural disasters in the last months of the year.

 

At the conference to review the response to storm No. 3, deploy the task of overcoming consequences and supporting reconstruction after natural disasters in Soc Son district on September 26, Soc Son district unexpectedly rewarded 94 groups and 173 individuals who had achievements in natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue before, during and after storm No. 3.
