Organize a workshop to promote "Enhancing accessibility of copies of works in accessible formats for people with disabilities who cannot read print"

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong signed Decision No. 3500/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing a workshop to promote "Enhancing accessibility to copies of works in accessible formats for people with disabilities who cannot read print".

The workshop aims to promote the effective implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in Vietnam; Ensure the rights and interests of people with disabilities who are print incompetent in Vietnam to access copies of works in accessible formats. At the same time, disseminate the results of the project's research report on international experiences and appropriate recommendations for Vietnam to effectively implement the Marrakesh Treaty; Complete the guidance documents for the subjects of the Marrakesh Treaty.

The workshop is expected to be held in the fourth quarter of 2025 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of delegates representing the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant ministries, branches and agencies; representatives of a number of libraries, publishers, social organizations, educators ; representatives of a number of law firms; representatives of groups of people with visual disabilities, print disabilities...

The Workshop program focuses on the following key contents: Introduction to the basic contents of the Marrakesh Treaty; Current status and challenges in implementing the Marrakesh Treaty in Vietnam; Announcement of research results and international experience on effective implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in a number of countries. Along with that, consultation on the draft guidelines for implementing the Marrakesh Treaty and legal regulations on copyright exceptions for people with disabilities in Vietnam./.
