Hang Rai has a special terrain including mountain ranges with many strangely shaped rocks stacked on top of each other and a typical dry coastal forest ecosystem. The waves continuously hit the cliffs, creating large cavities that were once ideal habitats for otters and are also the origin of the special name of this landscape. Not only strange from the name, Hang Rai also has a unique beauty with ancient fossil coral reefs, on the surface there are thousands of 20-30cm high rock spikes pointing up sharply, some places sink down to form holes with many shapes. This is a unique check-in location that creates surreal photos that make visitors feel like they are standing on the moon.
Below the ancient coral reef is another coral reef. Every time the tide rises, the waves crash onto the surface of the reef and then recede like a waterfall on the sea surface, the white foam splashing and sparkling under the sunlight is extremely beautiful. Hang Rai also attracts visitors with the green moss season that lasts from about December to March every year. At that time, each rock is covered with a smooth, green layer of moss. In the middle of the deep blue sea, the rugged fossilized rock creates a beautiful natural picture.
Ms. Truong Ngoc Anh (a tourist from Lam Dong ) and her group of friends captured many beautiful moments at Hang Rai at dawn. Ms. Anh shared: “The first time I came here, I was really impressed by the majestic and wild scenery. I love the sea, so when I set foot in Hang Rai, I liked it even more. The morning air here is fresh and cool, bringing a feeling of relaxation and comfort. This is definitely a destination that I will introduce to my friends and come back to in the future.”
One of the impressive experiences at Hang Rai is walking on the red-painted wooden bridge along the slope of Chua Mountain - which opens up a completely different space before visitors' eyes. Along the path, the multi-shaped rocks appear like an "outdoor museum" preserving the imprint of geological history, enduring the test of time and gravity. Standing from the bridge, visitors can fully admire the beauty of the natural mountains and forests and the vast blue sea.
Coming to Hang Rai, visitors not only admire the majestic landscape but can also combine many interesting experiences in the journey to explore Nui Chua National Park. Diverse tours and routes are organized here such as: Conquering the Red Rock peak, exploring Hang Rock - 5-storey waterfall, visiting Vinh Hy Bay - Stone Park - Thai An grape village, or trekking the coastal road of Vinh Hy - Binh Tien. In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to swim, take a glass-bottom boat to see coral, dive and participate in many water sports . Besides, visitors can also experience dining and resting services, and participate in night parties at Hang Rai tourist destination.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy Director in charge of the Center for Tourism and Environmental Education (Nui Chua - Phuoc Binh National Park Management Board): The unit is promoting the development of experiential ecotourism associated with many tours and routes to visit the National Park; in which Hang Rai is a prominent destination, attracting a large number of tourists thanks to its wild and majestic beauty. The unit focuses on environmental sanitation, installing guide boards, check-in points, providing biodiversity information and innovating services. At the same time, the National Park also strengthens training and propaganda on ecotourism for staff, visitors and the community to raise awareness of environmental protection.
Coming to Hang Rai, visitors can not only admire the majestic beauty of nature but also immerse themselves in the peaceful, pristine space. The waves lapping the shore, the rocks stacked on top of each other seem to tell the story of the ocean and the mark of time. Not only a destination to explore and preserve memories, Hang Rai also reminds everyone of the value of nature as well as the responsibility to join hands to preserve that beauty forever.
