Storm No. 10: Quang Tri strives to fix power grid problems

Due to the impact of storm No. 10, Quang Tri province suffered widespread power outages on the night of September 28 and 29. After the storm dissipated, Quang Tri Province Electricity Company raced against time, mobilizing forces inside and outside the province to restore the power grid, urgently supplying electricity to people and production facilities.

Since the early morning of September 29, Quang Tri Electricity Company has mobilized and directed Power Management teams to urgently inspect the power grid, assess the damage situation, in order to promptly deploy remedial measures, and soon restore power supply to serve people's lives and production.

The Provincial Electricity Company has urgently mobilized maximum cranes, forklifts, and ladder trucks to transport materials and construction equipment to speed up the restoration of power supply. By 4 p.m. on September 29, the company had restored power supply to about 89,000 customers.

In addition to the on-site force, the Central Power Corporation mobilized more than 200 workers and engineers from the Central Power Service Company and the Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai Power Companies, along with full construction equipment, to Quang Tri on September 29 to work through the night, support the restoration of the power grid, and soon provide electricity to serve people's lives and socio -economic development.

Previously, from the night of September 28, storm No. 10 with the strongest wind near the storm center at level 12, gusting to level 14, directly affected Quang Tri province, including the power grid. The total lost load capacity accounted for 45.6% of the province's capacity (at 11 p.m. on September 28, compared to the same time the previous day).

The system recorded 33 outbound lines from 110kV stations and 39 medium voltage segments having problems. 2,365/5,762 transformer stations stopped working (accounting for 41.0%), affecting 227,171 customers, accounting for 43.5% of the total number of electricity customers in the area.
