According to the Hanoi New Rural Office, the City's "One Commune One Product" program has affirmed its No. 1 position in the country with more than 3,400 OCOP products - accounting for 21.3% of the total number of OCOP products nationwide. Thereby, it has contributed to building brands for many cooperatives, helping clean agricultural products gain more and more trust from consumers.
Affirming the value of beekeeping for honey
With the advantage of a temperate climate and fertile land, very suitable for growing fruit trees and fruits all year round, people in Dan Phuong commune have bought domestic bee breeds to raise for honey and take advantage of natural pollination resources. At the same time, grasping the trend of linking production to increase value, from June 2023, small-scale beekeeping households in Dan Phuong commune have jointly established Tuan Minh Bee Cooperative. With 7 members, a scale of 1,200 domestic bee colonies, achieving an average output of 15,000 liters of honey/year. The members all have a lot of experience and knowledge in beekeeping, so they have brought stable quality products.
According to Mr. Tran Tuan Minh, Director of the Cooperative, the unit always puts product quality first, so it always moves bee colonies seasonally to collect abundant honey from natural flower areas to produce delicious, pure and safe products. In addition to raising bees for honey, the cooperative also breeds and supplies bee breeds to the market.
The cooperative mainly exploits honey in 3 main crops: Spring crop (lychee, longan flowers), summer crop (myrtle, eucalyptus, wild flowers), and autumn crop (apple flowers). The key product is Tuan Minh longan honey, which has a thick brown color, a natural sweet taste, and achieved 3-star OCOP certification in September 2024. This is an important turning point, affirming the cooperative's reputation in the market.
Thanks to beekeeping, the cooperative also creates jobs for about 10 local workers each season, contributing to improving income and spreading effective economic models.

In addition to OCOP honey products, Dan Phuong commune is also famous for its clean mushroom products that have achieved 4-star OCOP certification. This is one of the typical units of sustainable development from the commune's OCOP program.
Established in 2014, the cooperative has an area of nearly 9,000 m², including 4 specialized areas: nursery, house for growing shiitake mushrooms, lingzhi mushrooms and oyster mushrooms. The entire production process is strictly managed, applying VietGAP standards with a modern system of cold rooms, inoculation rooms and nursery rooms.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - the cooperative manager, growing clean mushrooms is a combination of agriculture and science, requiring techniques, care and the grower must be meticulous in every detail, and regularly monitor to have the best quality products. It is this strictness that has helped the cooperative's products achieve 4-star OCOP, opening up opportunities for the products to enter the supermarket system and clean food stores.
Currently, the cooperative has a variety of mushrooms. For example, brown oyster mushrooms are grown year-round, each month yielding about 4 tons and supplying the market regularly. Shiitake mushrooms - a specialty for the end of the year - average about 300 kg of both dried and fresh mushrooms each month. Meanwhile, lingzhi mushrooms, with high medicinal value, yield 1.2 - 1.5 tons of dried mushrooms each month, serving the needs of health care, tea processing or gifts.
The cooperative's products all have full packaging and labels, traceable origins and are highly appreciated by consumers for their quality and natural flavor. Being recognized as a 4-star OCOP not only helps the cooperative enhance its reputation but also creates a competitive advantage compared to floating products on the market.
Currently, the cooperative is providing regular jobs for 10 local workers with stable income, and actively participating in promotion programs, connecting supply and demand, contributing to building the brand of clean agricultural products in the capital.
The successes of Tuan Minh Bee Cooperative and Nghia Minh Mushroom Cooperative have clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the OCOP program. With a low starting point, from small-scale production households, cooperatives have been formed, gradually affirming their brands and building modern, professional production processes, bringing clean, safe agricultural products to consumers.
In modern agricultural production, OCOP is not only a title but also a "passport" to bring Hanoi's agricultural products into large distribution systems and towards export. This is also an inevitable direction to enhance value, affirm the brand and develop sustainably for the capital's agriculture.
According to Mr. Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of Office of the Hanoi City New Rural Development Program Coordination Office Ngo Van Ngon, OCOP is not only a title, but also a commitment to quality and prestige for consumers. The city and the New Rural Development Program Coordination Office will continue to support units and entities to build and develop the OCOP brand in depth and improve quality.
