The person who fell into the Xang Ngang River (Binh Loi Commune) on the afternoon of September 19 and was promptly rescued by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Huy is a 6th grade student at Go Xoai Secondary School.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Huy said that on the afternoon of September 19, he was on a ferry crossing the Xang Ngang River when he heard people shouting. He saw a student riding an electric bike lose control and plunge into the river about 5-6 meters from the shore. At that time, the student appeared to be panicking, his hands flailing.

The boatman quickly turned the boat around, and Huy jumped into the river to bring the student safely to shore. At this time, some members of the local security force were also present to help bring the student to shore. The health of the student and Huy were both normal.

Mr. Huy shared that he joined the grassroots security force around the beginning of 2025. When he saw the student fall into the river, he didn't think much, just wanted to save the person quickly. When he brought the student to shore safely, he felt very happy.

In recognition of his brave act of saving people on the Xang Ngang River, the People's Committee of Binh Loi Commune issued a decision to unexpectedly reward Mr. Huy.
