According to the latest update on storm No. 6 Tra Mi: At 7:00 p.m. on October 24, the center of the storm was at about 17.2 degrees North latitude; 119.7 degrees East longitude, in the eastern sea of ​​the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 9 (75-88 km/h), gusting to level 11. Moving westward at a speed of 15 km/h.

The eastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea has strong winds at level 7, then increasing to level 8, near the storm center at level 9-10 (75-102km/h), gusts at level 12, waves 5.0-7.0m high, near the storm center at 7.0-9.0m; very rough seas.

Vessels operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the impact of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

The Prime Minister issued an Official Dispatch to proactively respond to storm No. 6 Tra Mi.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 110/CD-TTg dated October 24, 2024 of the Prime Minister on proactively responding to storm Tra Mi.

Telegram sent to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the provinces and cities: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam , Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen; Ministries: National Defense, Public Security, Natural Resources and Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Transport, Construction, Foreign Affairs requesting:

Ministers and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities proactively organize close monitoring, update forecast information and storm, rain and flood situations to promptly direct and deploy response work according to the "four on-the-spot" motto according to assigned functions and tasks, not to be passive or surprised to ensure safety of life and minimize property damage to people.

The Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities shall direct the review and update of response plans for natural disasters, storms and floods in the locality; based on the actual situation and the potential impact of storms and floods in the locality, proactively provide timely information, direct and guide people to respond to storms and floods, including:

Focus on ensuring safety for activities at sea and on islands: Organize inspection, counting, proactively inform and guide vehicles and boats (including fishing boats, transport ships, and tourist boats) still operating at sea to know not to enter or exit dangerous areas or to return to safe shelters; take measures to ensure safety for boats at anchorage areas.

Review and deploy measures to ensure safety for tourism, aquaculture, and fishing activities at sea, in river mouths, and along the coast; resolutely evacuate people on cages and aquaculture huts to safe places before the storm directly affects them.

Based on specific situations, proactively decide on sea bans for fishing vessels, transport vessels, and tourist vessels.

Ensure safety in coastal and inland areas: Review and be ready to evacuate people from dangerous areas, especially those at risk of deep flooding, landslides, river mouths, and coastal areas.

Implement measures to ensure safety and limit damage to houses, warehouses, headquarters, public works, industrial parks, factories, and dikes; protect agricultural production and prevent flooding in urban areas and industrial parks.

Control traffic, organize traffic flow, guide traffic, and limit people from going out during storms and heavy rains to ensure safety.

Ensuring safety in mountainous areas:

Review and be ready to evacuate people in areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides; prepare forces, vehicles, equipment, and necessities according to the "four on-the-spot" motto to be ready to respond to all situations.

Check and proactively take measures to ensure the safety of reservoirs and downstream areas; arrange permanent forces ready to operate, regulate and handle situations.

Control and guide safe traffic, especially through tunnels, overflows, deep flooded areas, and fast-flowing water; proactively arrange forces, materials, and means to handle incidents, ensuring smooth traffic on main traffic axes.

Ready forces and means to promptly rescue and quickly overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment closely monitors, increases forecasts and warnings, and promptly updates information on storm developments, floods, flash flood and landslide risks so that relevant agencies and people can proactively deploy response measures.

Ministers of the Ministries of National Defense and Public Security directed forces stationed in the area to review response plans, proactively organize and deploy forces and means to be ready to support localities in responding to storms and floods, evacuating people, and conducting rescue and relief work.

Ministers of the Ministries of Transport, Industry and Trade and relevant ministries and branches, according to their state management functions and assigned tasks, shall proactively direct and coordinate with localities to deploy work to ensure safety for offshore oil and gas activities, mineral exploitation and power grid systems; operate hydroelectric reservoirs to ensure safety; and ensure traffic safety according to regulations.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development shall closely monitor the situation, proactively direct the effective implementation of storm and flood prevention and control work according to assigned tasks and authority; ensure the safety of dykes, dams, protect agricultural production, aquaculture, and aquatic and seafood exploitation; promptly report and propose to the Prime Minister issues beyond his authority.

Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency and other media agencies increase the time and report promptly on the developments of storms, floods and response work so that people know and proactively prevent and avoid them.

The Government Office, according to its assigned functions and tasks, shall monitor and urge the implementation of this Official Dispatch and promptly report to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in charge on any urgent or arising issues.
