Construction of charity house started for families affected by natural disasters

On September 12, in Son Thanh village, Tien Yen commune, the local Party Committee and government coordinated with sponsors to organize a groundbreaking ceremony to build a charity house for the family of Ms. Ban Thi Mai, a poor household in extremely difficult circumstances, who had to be urgently evacuated due to the impact of natural disasters.

Previously, due to the heavy rains that lasted for a long time in early July, Ms. Mai's family's concrete house was flooded by landslides, causing an estimated damage of about 500 million VND. The house could not be repaired for continued use, forcing the family to move to a new place. This was a big difficulty for the family, which was already poor.

Ms. Mai's family currently has 7 members, including a nearly 80-year-old disabled mother-in-law, a mentally ill husband and father, and two young children, one in 5th grade and one 2-year-old. The whole family depends on Ms. Mai and her mother-in-law as the main workers. Faced with this difficult situation, the local government has called for support from the community and organizations.

At the ceremony, representatives of the sponsoring unit, Khai Minh Duc Education System (Hanoi) and Thien An Pagoda (Bac Quang commune), donated 50 million VND to support the construction of a charity house for Ms. Ban Thi Mai's family. This amount of money not only helps the family have a new, safe and solid place to live, but also demonstrates the spirit of "helping each other", the timely sharing of the community with difficult circumstances after natural disasters.
