Tuyen Quang stops organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival due to storms Bualoi and Matmo

On October 4, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province decided to stop organizing the Tuyen Thanh Festival Night program and the Mid-Autumn Festival remembering Uncle Ho in 2025.

In an official dispatch sent to departments, branches and socio -political organizations in the province on October 4, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province said that the suspension of the Mid-Autumn Festival program was carried out according to the announcement of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.

Tuyen Quang stops Mid-Autumn Festival to prevent storms

The document explained the reason for stopping the two Mid-Autumn Festival programs as "to focus resources on preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters caused by storm No. 10."

Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province will coordinate with relevant units to stop organizing the Thanh Tuyen Night Festival program in 2025.

Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union will stop organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival program remembering Uncle Ho in 2025.

Departments, branches, People's Committees of communes and wards are also required to coordinate with the Fatherland Front Committee and other organizations to focus on storm prevention and overcoming consequences.

Commenting on the incident, many people agreed, saying that this was a humane decision by the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province. After storm No. 10 (Bualoi), many localities in the country such as Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh... are suffering very heavy losses in terms of people and property.

According to Tuyen Quang Online newspaper, in Tuyen Quang province, due to the impact of the storm's circulation, heavy rains in recent days have caused landslides, floods, and inundation in many localities, burying one household's house, leaving four family members missing, and causing great damage to property, crops, and people's lives.

The suspension of the Tuyen Thanh Festival Night program in 2025 is to ensure the safety of lives and property and to spend time and resources with people to focus on preventing and overcoming the consequences of floods in the province.

In the near future, storm No. 11 is also forecast to affect provinces and cities in Vietnam, in which Tuyen Quang may have heavy rain with a relatively wide storm circulation. It is necessary to be on guard for the possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind both before and during the storm.
