On the afternoon of July 24, at the regular press conference of the second quarter of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a representative of the Department of Performing Arts affirmed the view that artists, even famous people, are still citizens, and any violations of the law must be strictly handled, without exception or "no-go zones."

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tran Huong Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts, emphasized that artists are people who have a great influence on the public. When choosing the path of artistic activities, it means that they need to comply with ethical standards and the law like all other citizens.

Regarding the punishment of celebrities who advertise excessively on the Internet, the Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Information Technology has worked with and strictly handled violations such as MC Quang Minh, Van Hugo, and Hoang Linh. As for artists Quyen Linh and Doan Quoc Dam, although they were invited to work twice, the violations were determined to be at a low level and the related advertising contracts had ended two years ago.

A representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also said that the process of restricting images of celebrities who violate the law was issued in October 2024, but for many objective reasons, it has not yet been implemented in practice.

Regarding the handling of fake accounts on social networks for fraud purposes, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information added that in the first 6 months of the year, 3 major social networking platforms: Facebook, YouTube, TikTok have removed 30,000 accounts. In addition, to raise public awareness, the authorities have coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to send SMS messages warning of online fraud tricks, and at the same time asked the press to get involved to support communication./.
