Cold air to spread to the North from tomorrow

From tomorrow (December 28), cold air will flow down, causing severe cold in the North on December 29-30; in the South, some places will be hot, 35 degrees Celsius.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that today the North will be hot and humid, the humidity has not completely stopped, Hanoi is forecasted to be 19-26 degrees Celsius. From tomorrow night, cold air will flow down causing light rain, the temperature will decrease by 6-7 degrees compared to today.

On December 29-30 (February 8-9), the temperature will drop to the lowest level, in the plains it will be 13 degrees Celsius, in the mountains it will be 10-13 degrees Celsius, in the high mountains it will be below 10 degrees Celsius; in the highest it will be 17-21 degrees Celsius.

On the 1st and 4th of Tet, the North will have sunshine at noon, increasing 1-2 degrees each day, during the day it can reach 24 degrees, at night 13-17 degrees Celsius.

The American website Accuweather predicts that on the 29th of Tet, Hanoi will have a temperature of 12-14 degrees Celsius, at a very cold level (average daily temperature of 13 degrees Celsius or lower), and on the 30th of Tet, it will be very cold, 13-17 degrees Celsius. On the 1st and 3rd of Tet, the temperature will gradually increase to 15-22 degrees Celsius.

High points over 1,500 m above sea level such as Sa Pa ( Lao Cai ) will see temperatures gradually decrease in the coming days, with the coldest being 5-12 degrees Celsius on New Year's Eve.

In the Central region, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces from December 29 to the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year will have showers, with the lowest temperature being 14-17 degrees Celsius; the highest being 22-25 degrees Celsius. From December 29 to the 1st day of the Lunar New Year, the temperature will be 19-22 degrees Celsius due to the influence of cold air.

Quang Binh - Thua Thien Hue area from December 29 to the 5th day of Tet will have showers, highest temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius, lowest temperature 19-21 degrees Celsius.

From the night of December 29, provinces and cities from Da Nang to Binh Thuan are forecast to have showers in the north, with the highest temperature of 24-27 degrees Celsius. In the south, there will be little rain, sunny weather of 28-31 degrees Celsius, and at night, it will drop to 21-25 degrees Celsius.

During the 7 days of Tet holiday, the South and Central Highlands will be sunny, with the highest temperature in the South being 32-35 degrees Celsius, the Southeast being over 35 degrees Celsius, the heat threshold, and the lowest being 23-26 degrees Celsius. The Central Highlands will fluctuate between 17-32 degrees Celsius.

In January, Vietnam welcomed 3 cold spells on January 3, January 10 and January 22. Of which, the spell on January 22 caused widespread cold in the North and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh. The peak of Mau Son mountain (Lang Son) dropped to minus 3 degrees Celsius. Frost appeared in many provinces.
