Proposing many solutions to promote Can Tho tourism to promote resource values, comprehensive and sustainable development

The conference is an opportunity for businesses to share the advantages and difficulties in tourism activities; at the same time, make recommendations to the city leaders and local tourism leaders to remove difficulties. This is also an opportunity for businesses to grasp more information about policies, development orientations, potentials, advantages and commitments of the government in supporting and creating favorable conditions for businesses to operate and develop in Can Tho. On this basis, find appropriate solutions and orientations for sustainable development of Can Tho tourism.

In the first 9 months of 2025, Can Tho tourism is expected to welcome over 9.3 million visitors, including over 4.2 million overnight guests. Total revenue from tourism will reach over VND8,000 billion.

In fact, Can Tho tourism has faced many difficulties in the past time, and has not yet fully exploited the potential value of its resources. Therefore, Can Tho still does not have many unique tourism products; lacks key tourism projects; tourism businesses are mostly small and medium-sized, and have difficulty accessing capital; infrastructure for tourism is not synchronized, pollution problems in rivers and canals...

At the conference, businesses gave many opinions related to key issues in tourism development such as: transport infrastructure, specific tourism products, building products associated with Cai Rang floating market, key international tourist markets... Thereby, businesses also proposed solutions on key markets, green transformation, digital transformation in tourism activities, building flexible cooperation mechanisms between parties, creating a sustainable ecosystem associated with tourism development, reopening flights, community experiences associated with local people, linking product routes, infrastructure for tourism, building Can Tho tourism brand, innovating tourism promotion methods...

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, acknowledged and appreciated the contributions and suggestions of the delegates at the conference. The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also informed that the city has sent a proposal to the Government, the Ministry of Transport , and Vietnam Airports Corporation to support the promotion with airlines to open more routes, serving the development of tourism and the economy of the whole region; shared some festival events to attract tourists from now until the end of the year: River Festival, Army-Civilian Tet at Cai Rang floating market space... At the same time, she directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City to periodically organize specialized conferences to meet with tourism businesses to promptly grasp and remove difficulties. Thereby, the city leaders pledged to accompany businesses to remove difficulties, to achieve the goal of increasingly developing tourism.
