Director Phuong Dien and Xuan Phuoc said that although there were no specific taboos in the film crew, most actors abstained from eating corn and sugarcane juice when on set.

"Every show, artists like me bow before going on stage to perform," actor Minh Luan said.

There is an anecdote that when the film crew of Mother Rom filmed a scene on the stream bank in Ninh Thuan province.

The actors had to retake their roles as one incident after another occurred on set. It was getting dark and filming was impossible.

So everyone in the crew lit incense to pray to the local god and the earth god… After that, this scene was done in one take.

"Of course, for an artist, the success of a role and whether or not they sing well on stage all depend on their own efforts.

But when entering the profession, almost everyone follows taboos in the hope of having more success in their work," said actor Minh Luan.
