On the morning of May 13, the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association of Thanh Hoa province held a ceremony to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the traditional day of the Truong Son Troops. At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail - the traditional day of the Truong Son Army. From the primitive trails along the majestic Truong Son range, our army and people built a strategic transportation route - the Ho Chi Minh Trail, nearly 17,000 km long, including 5 vertical axes and 21 horizontal axes, connecting strategic areas, military zones, bypasses, fuel pipelines, communication routes, supply stations, military stations, warehouses, yards, maintenance stations...
Delegates attended the celebration with excitement and pride.
During the 16 years from 1959 to 1975, the Truong Son traffic system was not only an important strategic route, but also a fierce battleground between us and the enemy. In peacetime, the route was a symbol of the strength of solidarity and determination to fight for the independence, freedom, peace and unity of the Fatherland, as well as the solidarity between the people of the three countries: Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
The performance recreated the heroic atmosphere of the Truong Son cadres and soldiers of the past who devoted and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation.
Promoting the tradition of Truong Son soldiers, on April 20, 2012, the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Tradition Association of the province was established. Currently, the Association has more than 33,000 members. Over the years, the Association has mobilized contributions and received support from units, companies, businesses, and philanthropists to build 297 houses of gratitude for members in difficult circumstances and single female members; given gifts to members in difficult circumstances, policy beneficiaries, and children of poor and good-studying members, with a total cost of 18 billion 560 million VND; supported compatriots affected by natural disasters with 1.8 billion VND and many other goods. Truong Son cadres and soldiers actively participate in building the Party, government, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, while actively promoting the tradition of patriotism for the younger generations.
Central Association representative awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals
On this occasion, the Vietnam Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association awarded the excellent emulation flag to the provincial Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association, awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 groups: the Sam Son City Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association and Thanh Son Commune (Nghi Son Town); awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 individuals. The provincial Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association also awarded Certificates of Merit to many groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in building and operating the Association.
During the ceremony, former Truong Son soldier Nguyen Duy No, Director of Hoang Tuan Company Ltd. donated 70 million VND to build a house of gratitude and Nguyen Huy Hong, Director of Huy Hoang Construction Joint Stock Company, Hoang Hoa district donated 10 million VND to build the Comradeship Fund.
The organizing committee presented the book "Truong Son, forever remembered" of the Truong Son - Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association to the delegates.
