On March 13, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truc, principal of Tay Nguyen University, said that he had sent a document to the Ministry of Construction and the People's Committee of Dak Lak province asking for permission to expand the scope of dormitory rentals for the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy to students of other majors and other schools to avoid wasting construction.

According to Mr. Truc, the dormitory with 2 rows of 5-storey buildings, with 120 rooms equipped with bunk beds, single tables, chairs, double cabinets, fire protection system... ensures the accommodation, living and studying needs of students.

Pursuant to Point a, Clause 1, Article 6 of Decision No. 65 dated June 10, 2009 of the Prime Minister on housing development policy for students of universities, colleges, vocational schools and vocational training schools (minimum living area for student housing is 4m2 /student), the medical dormitory of the school meets the equivalent of about 700 students.

Accordingly, the dormitory is proposed to be rented not only for medical students but also for students of other majors in the school; students from nearby colleges and secondary schools; unmarried school staff...

Previously, the school flexibly allowed school staff and workers from other industries to stay in the house to avoid waste. However, this was against the original purpose of use, so they were asked to move out.

The school will increase the quality of accommodation services to include single and double rooms..., but still ensure the room rental price according to regulations.

"However, up to now, the school has not received any feedback or instructions from the Ministry of Construction or the People's Committee of Dak Lak province to know and implement," said Mr. Truc.
