Thung Nham Bird Garden (also known as Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area, Thung Chim) in Nam Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province; located in the core area of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex - World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

According to the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism , Thung Nham Bird Garden is currently one of the top attractive destinations in Ninh Binh. In particular, this large natural bird garden in the North is currently located in the core area of the world heritage site, so it is strictly protected. The bird species here are almost completely preserved.

This place is known as the largest natural bird garden in the North, with more than 40 species of birds, numbering up to 50,000 birds. When the sunset falls, flocks of white storks fly in Thung Nham bird garden, creating a wild beauty in the vast green nature.

Boatmen taking tourists to visit Thung Nham bird garden said that following the water flow, tourists can easily see the tropical forest on the limestone mountain range and birds flying around.

Many tourists enjoy taking out their phones to take pictures. The best time to take a boat trip is around 5pm - 6pm, when the most storks fly back to their nests. If you go too early, the storks won't fly back to their nests yet, if you go too late, it will be dark, the storks will have all returned to their nests and it will be difficult to observe.

Unable to help but admire the wild beauty of Thung Nham bird garden, Ms. Ha Anh (Nam Dinh ward, Ninh Binh province) expressed: "This is the first time I have seen so many species of birds at such close range. The feeling of sitting on a boat, following the water, and being immersed in nature is so interesting."

To see the bird garden, there are two ways: by road and by water. Going by road will take more time and be more difficult because the distance is long, crossing winding roads in the limestone mountains. This is the choice for those who like to explore. As for the water, visitors will sit on a boat, travel a short distance to the place to see the stork island and majestic mountains.
