Research warns that AI misuse leads to knowledge recycling, decreased creativity and the risk of collapsing the human knowledge model.

New research shows that dependence on AI is threatening knowledge creation. Unlike writing or the Internet, which expanded knowledge, AI largely recycles existing data.
As humans rely on AI for answers, the drive to explore and innovate gradually declines. This phenomenon leads to “knowledge model collapse” when AI trains on the data it generates.
Stack Overflow is a clear proof of that, with the number of questions dropping by 90% since ChatGPT appeared. Less original knowledge degrades the quality of the Internet, and makes AI even poorer. Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) shows that the human brain also functions worse when it is too dependent on AI.
If this trend continues, humanity risks entering a period of poor “knowledge recycling.” Dear readers, please watch more videos : From January 1, 2026, digital products created by AI must have identification marks | Nhan Dan Newspaper
