The first time performing a Vietnamese historical play, Hieu Hien missed his mother.

Recently, with the role of Mr. Vuoc in the Vietnamese historical play "The Love Story of Thang Long" (based on the script of the late author Luu Quang Vu, editor and director Hoang Hai, artist advisors: People's Artist Hong Van, Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long) performed at Ben Thanh Theater, artist Hieu Hien found sympathy from the audience. The character is very suitable to his strengths.

Hieu Hien always supports young actors to do well in their roles on stage.

"I accepted the invitation of Ms. Hong Van and Mr. Kim Tu Long to participate in the Vietnamese historical play because I felt excited, returning to the stage to perform an ancient drama, so I was very happy. The gestures used in the role I had learned from the Cai Luong genre, naturally I remembered my mother a lot. Because my mother once played the role of Captain Ky Hoa in the Vietnamese historical play "Thai Hau Duong Van Nga", and when playing this role, I suddenly remembered my mother's gestures on stage" - artist Hieu Hien emotionally shared.

Originally an actor at the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater when the late Meritorious Artist Bach Lan was the troupe leader, Hieu Hien worked at this public art unit for 3 years.

He participated in two plays, "The Law of Heaven and Human Heart" and "The Scheme of the Old Man and the Old Lady" before leaving the theater to follow his mother to perform comedy and then became involved in cinema.

"The time invested in the role in the Vietnamese historical play was a memorable period for me, because the artists all tried their best to complete their characters well.

I am glad that this project has created a buzz, promoting a theatrical work that instills patriotism in the hearts of every audience member.

The most memorable image of the two performances was the audience's cheers for each scene. The audience's applause was the motivation for us to complete our roles well" - artist Hieu Hien confided.

He said he is currently participating in a long-running TV series project directed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Phuong Dien, and is hoping to find a suitable role before returning to the stage to perform drama.

"I always remember the lessons my mother taught me and after all, the stage is the home that nurtured my artistic path" - artist Hieu Hien expressed.
