Returning to Vietnam after victory at Intervision 2025 in the Russian Federation, singer Duc Phuc just had a meeting with press and media agencies on the afternoon of September 27 in Hanoi .

During this meeting, the singer shared "everything" about his journey to Intervision 2025 and called this "a victory not only for Phuc personally but also for the Vietnamese people".

Previously on September 26, Duc Phuc received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister for his outstanding achievement in winning the championship of this international music competition.

Responding to the investment costs for the performance at Intervision 2025 , Duc Phuc said that at the time of the press conference, the crew had not yet totaled the amount spent on this journey, but it was estimated to be in the billions of dong.

The organizers cover the cost of food, accommodation, and travel for each country for 10 people, but Duc Phuc's team alone has 16-17 people.

But the most expensive investment is the cost of the effects on the stage. The fire effects alone (10 fire machines) for three days (stage test, simulation and official) cost 2 billion VND.

At first, when hearing the price quote, the singer was "shocked" because he did not think it would be that expensive. However, because he wanted to have the most perfect performance overall, and because he might not have a second chance to step onto this prestigious music stage in his lifetime, the Vietnamese representative decided to "play big".

"At that time, I was determined to lose, but I didn't expect to win so much. Knowing that, I should have added some fireworks to make it more spectacular," the artist honestly said.

He expressed that this victory once again proves that a good, attractive performance must be a combination of vocals, performance, stage, lighting and visual led.

Duc Phuc admitted that compared to representatives from more than 20 countries, if he "showed off his singing voice, he would not be able to compete with them". During practice, when listening to everyone sing, the Vietnamese singer "was scared" because they sang like they were playing a record.

"So what do we do? If our vocals can't compare, what will we use to make up for it?", Duc Phuc and his crew had to calculate carefully, sticking to the theme, the competition criteria as well as all the elements that create the most wonderful and explosive performance.

"I want to create a three-minute performance that doesn't let the audience breathe, giving them goosebumps and wowing them continuously from the beginning to the end of the song. It must especially be imbued with the culture as well as the spirit and aspirations of the Vietnamese people," Duc Phuc confided.

Big bonus but little charity?

Before returning home, Duc Phuc visited the Here & Now Charity Fund in Moscow and donated 500,000 Russian rubles (about 6,000 USD) to support orphaned and disadvantaged children there.

However, there are some opinions online that the charity amount is too small compared to the 30 million ruble (about 9 billion) reward that the artist received.

Duc Phuc said that right after the victory, he shared with Russian and international media that he will support a series of charity activities in Russia in the near future, of which the above fund is just the first.

"I read in the newspaper that Russian people were surprised and happy at the noble gesture of a Vietnamese artist. They said how wonderful the Vietnamese people are," the singer said he "has the right to be proud of his country and his gesture when winning an international award."

Duc Phuc also revealed that he will donate 1 billion VND to domestic charity funds as a way to celebrate his victory and 10 years of meaningful work.

After the press conference in Hanoi, Duc Phuc will fly back to Ho Chi Minh City and plan to meet and pay tribute in person to poet Nguyen Duy, author of the poem Vietnamese Bamboo , which is also a strong inspiration for the performance Phu Dong Thien Vuong . The artist considers this a "necessary and should be done" thing.
