TPO - In the days before Tet, flower growers in Duong Son flower village (Da Nang city) become busier than ever. Convoys of trucks, three-wheeled vehicles, and motorbikes line up in and out carrying thousands of colorful flower pots to supply the Tet market.

Duong Son flower village (Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city) is the oldest and largest flower growing village in Da Nang. Every year, it supplies millions of flower baskets to the locality and neighboring provinces.

From early morning, the flower village was bustling with the sound of vehicles on the small roads leading to each flower garden. Trucks, big and small, lined up full of pots of yellow chrysanthemums, marigolds, primroses... to transport to customers in time for Tet.

The flower garden owners said that as Tet approaches, the flower village becomes crowded and bustling, with traffic from morning to night. If we are even a little late, we will not be able to deliver the flowers to customers on time, so everyone has to take advantage of every hour to pick the flowers.

Many gardeners are busy exporting their products to supply large flower markets in Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue and neighboring provinces.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, the owner of a flower garden in Hoa Chau commune, said that this year she planted 600 pots of yellow chrysanthemums and has sold more than half. "These days, traders come to buy continuously, it is expected that in just a few days the flower garden will be sold out. Half of the flowers have owners so I am very happy."

Each flower pot costs from 250,000 to 1 million VND depending on size.

On this occasion, not only the gardeners are busy but the people around are also happy because they have more jobs to earn money for Tet such as transporting flowers for hire, loading flowers. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hai (residing in Hoa Chau commune) said: "Every day I run 7-10 trips and can earn millions of dong by transporting flowers for hire. For each trip, I get from 100,000 to 200,000 dong depending on the distance."

The job of carrying and hiring flowers during Tet helps many people earn millions of dong every day.

The trucks full of flowers leave, bringing joy to each family in the days before Tet, helping them have a significant additional income to celebrate a warm and prosperous Tet.
