Bac Ninh provincial leaders inspect flood and storm prevention situation in Hiep Hoa

In recent days, due to the influence of storm No. 3 and water flowing from upstream, the water level of Cau River has risen rapidly, currently at alert level 3. Hiep Hoa has 14 communes along Cau River directly affected by rising river water and some localities have been partially flooded.

Comrade Lam Thi Huong Thanh inspected the flood and storm prevention situation in Hiep Hoa district.

Comrade Lam Thi Huong Thanh and district leaders visited Thanh Van and Dong Tan communes, two localities near the upstream that are experiencing partial flooding. In Dong Tan commune, 5/7 villages were isolated by flooding; in Thanh Van commune, 110 households were isolated by flooding.

Besides, in some other localities in the district, many households, rice and crops were also flooded.

In response to this situation, the District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has deployed urgent measures to respond and directed localities and functional forces to provide timely support to help people move their property, people and livestock to safety. Currently, there have been no human casualties in the district.

After listening to the reports from localities and going to the field to inspect and meet the affected people, Comrade Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, sent words of encouragement and shared the difficulties caused by the impact of storm No. 3 for the people in the district, especially the people in the communes along the Cau River who have been directly affected by the floods. She also acknowledged the efforts and drastic actions of the Party Committee and authorities from the district to the grassroots level, who have focused on natural disaster prevention in the area and promptly deployed plans to ensure the safety of the people.

He emphasized that it is forecasted that in the coming time, there will continue to be rain, and the water from the upstream will accumulate, putting great pressure on the Cau River section passing through Hiep Hoa district. Therefore, he requested the District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue and local forces to regularly monitor and grasp the situation, and arrange regular forces to be ready to deal with any situations that may arise. The process of performing tasks must ensure absolute safety for people.

He also requested that localities have policies to support people affected and facing difficulties due to floods. At the same time, they should continue to promote propaganda and advise people on proactive measures to prevent floods, mobilizing the entire political system to join in minimizing damage caused by storms and floods.

On this occasion, comrade Lam Thi Huong Thanh and leaders of Hiep Hoa district visited, encouraged and gave necessities to people isolated by floods in Thanh Van commune.
