According to the report, through a survey, Khanh Hoa province has identified a location that basically meets the conditions and criteria to propose a new resettlement area (replacing the original location in Thai An village). This is an important basis for the province to ask for people's opinions, create consensus and submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.

Specifically, option 1 is located in My Phong village (Vinh Hai commune) with an area of about 69.24 hectares; of which 24.13 hectares of residential land is expected to be arranged into 1,095 plots, each plot is 150-230 square meters wide; 6.8 km from the reactor center, outside the emergency protection zone.

Option 2 in Khanh Nhon 1 village (Vinh Hai commune) with an area of about 76.63 hectares; of which 21.09 hectares of residential land is expected to be arranged into 1,415 plots, each plot is 120-200 square meters wide; 8km from the reactor center, also outside the emergency protection zone.

The representative of the Khanh Hoa Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said that option 1 has many advantages and is more suitable because it has a large total residential land area, synchronous social infrastructure and services. This land has been arranged with educational, medical, public, green facilities... and has better economic and tourism development potential than option 2.

At the survey, Vinh Hai commune residents expressed their agreement with the policy of restarting the nuclear power project. Residents requested the State to have a policy of compensation, resettlement support, livelihood conversion and finding new jobs in the resettlement area. Many opinions wished to be arranged a place of residence other than the two options mentioned above, with convenient transportation and good production land to stabilize their lives in the long term.

Sharing with the people, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang affirmed: The province will accept the recommendations and direct specialized agencies to review a number of locations to choose the optimal solution; appropriate compensation policies; ensure stable resettlement areas and meet the livelihood needs of the people.

Khanh Hoa provincial leaders hope that people will continue to support and accompany the government so that the project can be implemented on schedule. The resettlement area serving the project relocation will be invested in synchronous infrastructure, convenient for production, ensuring a stable and safe life in the long term, in accordance with the Government 's regulations and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) guidelines.

Previously, the initial resettlement area in Thai An village (about 45 hectares) had a part of the area within a 1km radius from the factory fence - an area confirmed by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a "no-residential area".

In addition, the area within a radius of 3-5km (emergency protection zone - PAZ) should only allow natural population growth and limit the construction of crowded areas such as schools and hospitals.

The two proposed new resettlement sites mentioned above in Vinh Hai commune are both located outside the emergency protection zone (PAZ) of 3-5km.
