Lao Cai: Cam Duong Ward urgently deploys storm response work

In order to minimize the damage caused by storm No. 11, Cam Duong ward, Lao Cai province is urgently deploying response measures, arranging human resources and means, ready to handle any situation that may arise.

Immediately after receiving information about storm No. 11, Cam Duong Ward People's Committee issued a document requesting members of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue; Heads of departments, offices, and organizations; Party cell secretaries; Heads of residential groups; agencies, units, and enterprises in the ward to urgently carry out tasks and solutions to focus on responding to storm No. 11 and floods, landslides, and rockslides.

The Ward People's Committee has sent working groups to inspect and review key constructions and areas at high risk of landslides... to come up with a solution. Through the review, there are currently 25 areas at risk of landslides in the ward. The authorities have notified households in this area to move to a safe place.

Comrade Nguyen Duy Tuyen, Vice Chairman of Cam Duong Ward People's Committee, said: The ward's functional forces strictly control the situation in areas affected by storms, floods, landslides, and resolutely do not let people return home if their safety is not guaranteed; prepare forces, vehicles, and equipment in key areas at risk of being isolated according to the "4 on-site" motto to promptly approach and deploy rescue as soon as a bad situation occurs.

With the goal of ensuring the safety of people's lives and property above all, on October 6, the People's Committee of Cam Duong ward held an urgent meeting to deploy response work to storm No. 11.

The Ward People's Committee mobilized all forces to participate; established 7 Rapid Response Teams, and provided the phone numbers of the team leaders to quickly deploy response measures when natural disasters occurred; prepared cultural houses for people to evacuate when landslides occurred; equipment, food, and medicine were also planned to ensure.

The Ward People's Committee assigned leaders to be on duty 24/7 to promptly direct flood response work, especially in key areas and villages at risk of being isolated by floods.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Nhan, Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Civil Defense Command of Cam Duong Ward requested: Concentrate all resources to prevent and combat storms; do not be subjective or negligent, be prepared for possible scenarios to have the best response plan; effectively implement the "4 on-site" motto including: On-site forces, on-site command, on-site means and supplies and on-site logistics.

At the same time, coordinate with relevant units to urgently overcome the consequences immediately after storms and floods; focusing on supporting people to repair houses, immediately repair affected schools and medical facilities; restore production to soon stabilize people's lives.

With the highest sense of responsibility, Cam Duong ward is determined to proactively respond with the people, minimize damage caused by storms and floods, and ensure absolute safety for people and property.
