On the occasion of April 30 - May 1 this year, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off, from Saturday, April 27 to Wednesday, May 1.

Sharing at a recent press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , said that she had surveyed businesses and that if they had planned to take 5 days off earlier, they would have prepared more proactively, especially to promote during the 20th Tourism Festival.

However, when the holiday is officially announced, businesses have already prepared products and many families have already planned their vacations in advance.

Ms. Hoa assessed that although tourism businesses always have 3, 4, 5-day products to serve domestic and international travel needs of tourists and long-term products, if they have early plans, businesses can market to customers sooner, thereby increasing the number of product registrations.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the first three months of the year, the city welcomed about 1.4 million international visitors, of which nearly 500,000 were in March alone - an increase of more than 30% over the same period in 2023.

Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry forecasts that second quarter revenue will continue to grow well.

In the second quarter, this unit forecasts that tourism revenue will continue to grow well because it is the peak summer tourist season with a series of tourism stimulus events.
