Many embassies and international organizations participate in the first "World Cultural Festival in Hanoi"

On the afternoon of September 26, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold a press conference to inform about the first "World Cultural Festival in Hanoi". Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh chaired.

Attending the press conference were ambassadors, representatives of embassies, international organizations, foreign cultural centers in Vietnam; leaders of units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi People's Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of domestic and foreign press agencies.

The festival has a rich scale with 45 national cultural spaces, 33 food stalls, 16 domestic and foreign art troupes, 12 book introduction units and 20 countries sending films to participate in the film screening program. In the space of the world heritage site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, cultures from five continents converge, introducing the unique quintessence of their people.

Speaking at the press conference, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh emphasized: The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is a place where diverse, rich and proud colors of countries around the world converge; where cultural regions of countries across five continents intertwine and blend to create a color called peace.

The first “World Cultural Festival in Hanoi” is an important initiative held for the first time in Vietnam. This will be a space for exchange, solidarity, promoting mutual understanding and affirming the role of culture in implementing the United Nations sustainable development goals, for peace and common prosperity.

At the press conference, Director of the Department of International Cooperation Nguyen Phuong Hoa said: The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 3298/QD-BVHTTDL dated September 12, 2025 approving the organization project and Decision No. 3313/QD-BVHTTDL dated September 16, 2025 promulgating the program organization plan.

Director of the Department of International Cooperation Nguyen Phuong Hoa provided more information about the festival.

Within the framework of the festival, many exciting activities took place including: Hanoi World Culture Festival, international culinary program, film screening, folk dance, fine arts, international costume show, Ao Dai festival and Hanoi International Book Festival.

With the motto "Culture is the foundation - Art is the means", the festival aims to become an annual international cultural event, contributing to connecting countries, promoting people-to-people exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding and trust.

The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on the evening of October 3 and closing on October 5.
