The opening of the two international passenger and cargo road transport routes above meets the needs of people on both sides to visit relatives and work across the border; facilitates the transportation of goods, contributing to the further development of the economy, trade and tourism of both sides. To participate in the exploitation of these two passenger and cargo transport routes, the Department of Transport of Ha Giang province will select transport units with experience and vehicles that ensure technical safety conditions to meet the requirements of international passenger and cargo road transport between the two sides. The opening of this passenger and cargo transport route will contribute to building a more and more sustainable comprehensive strategic friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China; promote economic and social development and cultural exchange between Ha Giang and Yunnan provinces.

Previously, in August 2023, at Xin Man - Do Long border gate, Xin Man district, the Department of Transport of Ha Giang province (Vietnam) and the Department of Transport of Yunnan province (China) jointly performed the official opening ceremony of two international road passenger and cargo transport routes from Ha Giang - Xin Man border gate - Vietnam - Do Long border gate - China - Van Son district and vice versa; Ha Giang route - Thanh Thuy border gate - Vietnam - Thien Bao border gate - China - Van Son district and vice versa.

The opening of the two international passenger and freight road transport routes will meet the needs of people on both sides visiting relatives and working across the border; facilitate the transport of goods, contributing to the further development of the economy , trade and tourism of both sides. The opening of these two passenger and freight transport routes will also contribute to building the increasingly sustainable development of the comprehensive strategic friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China; promote economic and social development and cultural exchange between the two provinces of Ha Giang and Yunnan.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of the Department of Transport of Yunnan province emphasized: the opening of the two transport routes will fully promote the advantages in terms of transport and tourism between China and Vietnam; shorten the time for goods circulation between the two sides, promote cooperation in the fields of trade and logistics, accelerate the development of the transport sector along the route. Wishing to work with Ha Giang province to implement the joint statement of the two countries on continuing to promote and deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam. This is an opportunity to develop, promote the advantages of each side, promote cooperation, enrich the forms of cooperation, deepen cooperation, and improve the effectiveness of cooperation.
