Closing ceremony of the project "Improving living conditions for ethnic minority communities"

On September 18, 2025, the Center for Research on Community Development Initiatives (RIC) held a closing ceremony for the project "Improving living conditions for ethnic minority communities" in Son La province.

Attending the project closing ceremony were representatives of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Provincial Police , the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations and communes, villages and hamlets in the project implementation area.

Project "Improving living conditions for ethnic minority communities" by Bread Organization Sponsored by Bread for the Word, the Research Center for Community Development Initiatives (RIC) is the implementing unit from July 2022 to September 2025 in the communes of Chieng Yen, Chieng Xuan, Song Khua and Suoi Bang (now in the communes of Van Ho, Chieng Son, Song Khua and To Mua, respectively), with a total project budget of 767,000 EURO - equivalent to nearly 20 billion VND. After more than 03 years of implementation, the RIC Center organized 32 training courses to improve capacity for 320 community group members and households in the project on planning, afforestation techniques combined with planting short-term trees and medicinal plants; environmentally friendly agricultural crop cultivation techniques and market connection; implementing 102 projects and models to develop livelihoods for people in the project area, with a total budget of 12.8 billion VND. The combination of developing sustainable livelihood models and constructing, operating and maintaining domestic water works... has contributed to improving the lives of people in difficult areas.

Continuing the results achieved in phase 1 of the project, the Center for Research on Community Development Initiatives (RIC) is coordinating with relevant departments, branches and localities of the province to deploy the contents and procedures to implement phase 2 of the project (from July 2025 to August 2028), in the area of ​​03 communes: Van Ho, To Mua, Song Khua, with a total estimated budget of about 667,000 EURO - equivalent to nearly 17 billion VND.
