Conference of the Prime Minister with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad on the topic of Economic Diplomacy contributing to the realization of economic growth targets

On July 22, 2025, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the Prime Minister's Conference with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad on the topic of Economic Diplomacy contributing to the realization of economic growth targets (the Conference was organized in a combined form of direct and online); also attending at the Government headquarters were Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and representatives of leaders of relevant ministries, branches, industry associations, and large economic groups across the country. The connected online bridges include: headquarters of Vietnamese Embassies and Consulates General in countries and regions that are important economic partners of Vietnam; headquarters of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities.

At the Son La province bridge, comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the Conference, also attended by representatives of the Provincial People's Committee Office and related departments, branches and Associations.

At the Conference, delegates heard reports from Vietnamese diplomatic missions in a number of regions and countries that are important markets and economic partners of Vietnam: Europe, the United States, China... on the situation and opportunities for cooperation and international economic integration for Vietnam as well as notes on new economic and legal policies in these regions and countries; delegates also heard reports from industry associations and representatives of a number of localities on the practical difficulties and challenges for economic diplomacy in the context of economic policies (especially on tariffs) of major countries in the world, and at the same time made recommendations and proposals to competent authorities, especially Vietnamese representative missions abroad, to more effectively support the process of accessing and developing Vietnamese goods in the international market as well as attracting more and more resources from abroad to contribute to the strong development of the domestic economy.

Speaking at the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that economic diplomacy is a bright spot in the country's achievements in the first 6 months of 2025, especially in negotiating reciprocal tariffs with the United States and achieving good results in promoting negotiations to sign an FTA with the South American Customs Union (MERCOSUR) . The Prime Minister also requested all ministries, localities, enterprises... to continue to implement well the "Three Togethers" ( listening and understanding together; sharing vision, awareness and action; working together, enjoying together, developing together) , must maintain the reputation and brand of Vietnamese products and goods for long-term cooperation with partners. The Prime Minister requested that Vietnamese representative agencies abroad must be more responsive in grasping information in the host region and country and promptly providing it to the country to serve economic diplomacy activities, especially information on market demand and policies and laws of the host region and country related to industries that are Vietnam's export strengths; in addition, it is necessary to focus on maintaining a good impression, enhancing the trust of local authorities and businesses in Vietnam, actively connecting and proposing to serve the goal of attracting high-quality experts from the world to work in Vietnam./.
