In the quarterfinals of the men's singles of the Vietnam Open Badminton Tournament 2025 taking place at 2:40 p.m., tennis player Nguyen Hai Dang (ranked 63rd in the world ) will face Wang Zi Jun (China, ranked 159th in the world). Although not yet ranked high, Wang Zi Jun from badminton powerhouse China promises to cause difficulties for Nguyen Hai Dang. Meanwhile, after achieving his goal of reaching the quarterfinals, Nguyen Hai Dang is more confident and comfortable to conquer his opponent.
At 3:30 p.m., Nguyen Dinh Hoang/Tran Dinh Manh (ranked 96th in the world) will compete in the men's doubles quarterfinals, facing Chen Sheng-fa/Lu-chen (Taiwan, ranked 147th in the world). She will face Thailand's Thamonwan Nithiittikrai (ranked 80th in the world) at 4:20 p.m. In their only encounter 3 years ago, Nguyen Thuy Linh defeated her opponent 2-0 (21/9, 21/15). The Thai player has just made her mark with a gold medal at the World Student Badminton Championships, however, Nguyen Thuy Linh is still rated higher, promising to maintain her form to advance straight to the semi-finals, aiming to defend her title as champion of the Vietnam Open Badminton Championships.
