Scattered over an area of nearly 2.9 hectares, the relic site is a complex of memorial works for the great poet Nguyen Du (1765 - 1820), author of the classic poem: Truyen Kieu with 3,254 verses in the luc bat form.

Nguyen Du's church was first built in 1820 (it has been renovated many times since then), built in the style of 3 rooms, 2 gables with 2 lions greeting each other. Inside, there is still a stone tablet engraved with his name, title and parallel sentences praising Nguyen Du given by King Minh Mang.

Nguyen Du's tomb was originally just a simple grave facing west with a stele inscribed "Tien Dien Nguyen's tomb", later it was rebuilt and restored to be more solemn.

In 1965, Cho Tro communal house (dating from the end of the 18th century) was moved to the memorial area to be used as a display house containing nearly 1,000 documents and artifacts: Nguyen Du's inkstone, Kieu printed from the oldest known engraving (1866), unique Kieu calligraphy, a collection of Tale of Kieu in various languages... In addition, two large characters "Hong Son the pho" (Ancient lineage at the foot of Hong Linh mountain) and "Thien mon tai dang" (Again to the gate of heaven) were preserved here, given to the Nguyen-Tien Dien family by the Qing Dynasty envoy and the descendants of Chu Cong at the end of the 18th century.

" Bat tri tam bach du nien hau/Thien ha ha nhan khap To Nhu " (I don't know 300 years from now, who in the world will cry for To Nhu). Nguyen Du passed away more than 200 years ago, but people still remember him through Truyen Kieu - a treasure of Vietnamese literature, recognized as a World Documentary Heritage. People even... tell fortunes about Kieu (use Truyen Kieu to ask for advice or predict the future). Combining literature and folk spirituality is a unique phenomenon not seen in other countries.
