Vietnam Billiards Federation suspended for 1 year, athletes still allowed to compete internationally

Specifically, VBSF will be banned for 1 year, starting from October 16, 2024. In addition, VBSF will not be allowed to organize any international billiards events (including carom, snooker, pool). In addition, officials and managers of VBSF are also not allowed to participate in any billiards events. Meanwhile, Vietnamese athletes will be invited and participate in all billiards events. Thus, Vietnamese athletes can still compete in regional or Asian sports events (SEA Games, Indoor Games...)

Finally, international billiards events are allowed to be held in Vietnam without the approval of VBSF. The reason is that WCBS highly appreciates the development of billiards in Vietnam.

Previously, the Asian Billiards Sport Federation (ACBS) issued a suspension order for 6 months, from June 13, 2024 to January 12, 2025 for VBSF. This action of ACBS was strongly opposed. The reason for the ban was because Vietnam organized the Hanoi Open - a tournament that ACBS did not license.
