Footsteps throughout Tet without rest
Having just returned to the unit with the working group performing the task of patrolling and controlling the sea area, border lines, and landmarks at Sa Vy cape, which is likened to "from the headland of Tra Co pine forest to Ca Mau mangrove forest", Captain Tran Xuan Khang, Head of the Mass Mobilization Team, Tra Co Border Guard Station, Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) said: In recent times, the situation of sovereignty and national border security in the area under the unit's responsibility has always been stable.
"Like every year, this year, border residents will welcome the New Year in peace and safety," Captain Khang informed.
Patrol team to protect sovereignty during the Lunar New Year of Tra Co Border Guard Station, Mong Cai City.
According to Captain Khang, like many other patrols and inspections during the Tet holiday, today the unit did not detect any strange signs related to national border security sovereignty on the border line, landmarks, and sea areas.
This is a good sign because the awareness of border residents about security and order related to national border security and sovereignty has clearly changed.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Tuan, Head of Tra Co Border Guard Station, said: the unit is assigned to manage and protect a 12km long border section, of which 5,798km runs on river, 6,202km is sea border, with 2 national border markers.
The residential area under the unit's responsibility includes Tra Co and Binh Ngoc wards of Mong Cai city, with 3,007 households/9,393 people. Although the national border security situation in the area is basically stable, there are still potential activities of some types of criminals, requiring the unit to constantly raise its vigilance.
To avoid being passive and surprised, the unit has developed a plan, arranged vehicles and patrol forces, and strictly controlled the border, landmarks, and assigned sea areas during Tet.
Along with that, the unit's working groups have regularly followed the locality closely, carried out mass mobilization work well, focusing on propagating to people not to illegally cross the border, not to set off illegal fireworks, not to participate in transporting smuggled goods, etc.
"Thanks to that, since the beginning of the Giap Thin Tet holiday until now, the area under the unit's responsibility has had no complicated incidents, and people are all at ease and stable to welcome the new year," said the Chief of Tra Co Border Guard Station.
Despite the harsh weather during the Giap Thin New Year, Bac Son Border Guard Station always maintains patrol and control teams to firmly protect national sovereignty and border security in the area.
At Bac Son Border Guard Station (Mong Cai City), like every year, this Giap Thin New Year, the unit also arranged forces to be ready for combat in accordance with regulations.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Kien Hung, Political Commissar of Bac Son Border Guard Station, said: The area the unit is in charge of includes both sea and land borders with 7 communes and wards in the border area.
Although the means and forces are limited and must be deployed to protect security and order at the city's entertainment events, especially during the New Year's Eve fireworks display, the unit has developed a suitable border protection plan, so that up to now, the area has always been maintained absolutely safe.
"The unit has carefully prepared logistics to ensure that the soldiers can celebrate Tet. In addition to the regime from the superiors, the unit also allocates an additional 100,000 VND/person/day from the source of production to the food rations. The unit also plans to have over 500kg of pork, chicken, geese, green vegetables... to ensure that the duo can eat well and finish their rations," said Lieutenant Colonel Hung.
In other border units in Quang Ninh , soldiers in green uniforms are still tirelessly braving cold winds and big waves to patrol, control, and ensure the safety of the area with the spirit of not letting the Fatherland be surprised in any situation.
Border spring warms the hearts of the villagers
Not only taking care of the soldiers to ensure "full meals, winning battles", one of the meaningful activities of the Quang Ninh Border Guard effectively deployed during the Giap Thin New Year is the effective implementation of the program "Border spring warms the hearts of the villagers".
Thereby, thousands of gifts with a total value of tens of millions of VND were given by the Provincial Border Guard to policy families, families in difficult circumstances, poor but studious students... during the Tet holiday.
Hoanh Mo Border Guard Station, Binh Lieu District, launched the program "Warm Border Spring for the People" in 2024.
Typically, the Border Guard Station at Hoanh Mo border gate, Binh Lieu district, gave nearly 100 gifts with Uncle Ho's picture and the national flag to poor households, policy families, and children in difficult circumstances; organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to people.
Or like Mong Cai City, the Border Guard Command of Quang Ninh province and the city government coordinated with a number of socio-political organizations of the province to give 90 gifts to poor households, policy families with difficult circumstances in Vinh Trung commune, Vinh Thuc commune and students in the programs "Helping children go to school", "Adopted children of Border Guard Station".
On this occasion, the Quang Ninh Border Guard held an inauguration ceremony and presented a "Border Warm Home" worth over 200 million VND to the family of Ms. Le Thi Hue, 77 years old, a near-poor household, residing in village 2, Vinh Thuc commune.
Bac Son Border Guard Station, Mong Cai City gives gifts to poor households and policy families on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
Within the framework of the program "Warm Border Spring for the People", units under the Quang Ninh Border Guard also organized many exciting and meaningful activities such as: "Wrapping green Chung cakes" contest to give to poor households in the area; organizing cultural and artistic exchanges, football matches with units stationed in the area, medical examination and treatment, consultation, free medicine for people...
The implementation of the program "Warm Border Spring for the People" is an opportunity for border units to take care of policy beneficiaries and families in difficult circumstances, thereby further strengthening the close relationship between the army and the people. Thereby, building a people's border defense posture associated with an increasingly solid people's national defense in the border area.
