The opening two matches quickly stirred up the atmosphere as Vietnamese and Cambodian boxers continuously created fierce tug-of-wars. Boxer Nguyen Tien Phat, with his extensive experience from national tournaments, showed his composure and courage to overcome Do Nguyen Minh Quyen.

Meanwhile, Von Kimcheng of Cambodia left his mark with powerful kicks and knees, helping him defeat Phan Vu Bao and bring victory to the representative of the land of pagodas.

The first knockout of the event belonged to Vo Minh Nghia, when he landed a precise punch that knocked out Tha Vanthorn amid cheers from the audience. Immediately after, Nguyen Trung Hai asserted his strength in the MMA Pro format with an impressive victory over Nguyen Quoc Huy. He used close-quarters tactics and “ground-and-pound” continuously, leaving his opponent unable to defend.

It is worth noting that after this victory, Trung Hai did not hesitate to call out Nguyen Ngoc Thuc - the boxer who lost to him by choke at LION Championship 21. The dramatic confrontation between the two boxers has raised expectations of a fierce rematch in the near future.

One of the most intense matches took place in the 60kg weight class when Nguyen Hop Hai faced Danh Quoc. Both entered the match with a dedicated style of fighting, continuously exchanging blows that made the audience unable to take their eyes off. Although he gained the upper hand in the first minutes with a series of stunning blows, Hop Hai gradually lost his breath due to his opponent's stamina and accurate knee strikes.

In the third round, Danh Quoc took the initiative to bring the match to the floor, taking advantage of his technical advantage to launch a series of elbows, causing serious injuries to Hop Hai's face. The referee was forced to stop the match, recognizing the victory for Danh Quoc, thereby helping him successfully avenge his defeat two years ago.

The clash between two generations: veteran Tran Trong Kim and young talent Nguyen Phu Thinh

The drama continued with the clash between two generations: veteran Tran Trong Kim and young talent Nguyen Phu Thinh. Despite the difference in age and experience, both gave an emotional match. The continuous exchanges of blows made the audience continuously applaud. With more certainty and accurate punching rate, Trong Kim won, showing the stable performance of a veteran boxer.

The most anticipated match of the night was the confrontation between WBC Muay Thai world champion – Truong Cao Minh Phat and Aaron Clarke, an Irish fighter and former ISKA Kickboxing champion. Right from the first round, Minh Phat dominated with powerful left kicks, eliminating his opponent’s most powerful weapon.

Minh Phat won excellently

Not stopping there, he also effectively used his signature punches, creating great pressure for Clarke. However, the Irish fighter showed his bravery and tenacity, dragging the match to the third round with his aggressive style, forcing Minh Phat to enter a physical battle.

However, with precision and effectiveness in his punches, Minh Phat won brilliantly, affirming his position as one of the top martial artists in Vietnam today.

Closing the competition night, LION Championship 26 once again proved the strong appeal of MMA in Vietnam. In particular, the MMA Striking format continued to make its mark by allowing fighters to show off all their skills from punching, kicking, elbowing, kneeing to grappling and choking, creating diversity and drama in each match.

With top-notch performances, the event brought the audience a memorable martial arts night, contributing to promoting the MMA movement to develop even stronger in Vietnam.
