Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Ms. NTL (name changed), parent of a student in class 7A14, Dai Kim Secondary School ( Hanoi ), said that on the night of the incident where the student grabbed the teacher's hair and pressed her head, her child came home and told her mother what happened in class. "When I heard the news, I was shocked, not knowing if it was true or not," Ms. L. said.
"My children have been studying together since 6th grade, for more than a year now. As a parent, it was only when I watched the clip that I realized it was true," said Ms. L., adding that on social media, many people who did not understand commented that other students in the class did not intervene and were insensitive, which made her sad.
“However, my child said he did not dare to intervene because everyone was afraid that the other boy was bigger and was holding a sharp object. At that time, the teacher also asked the whole class to sit still. With such a dangerous sharp object, if the whole class jumped in to intervene, it could easily have had worse consequences,” said Ms. L.
After the incident, Ms. L. hopes that the authorities and schools need to strictly handle violations according to the law, to avoid many students having the wrong thinking that "it's okay to commit violations or wrongdoings against teachers".

On the other hand, she also believes that students are still young and need to have the opportunity to correct their mistakes. However, the handling measures must still be appropriate, ensuring deterrence and education , avoiding affecting the class as a whole and the future of the student himself.
Another parent also said that her child told her that "in a situation where a student grabbed her hair and pushed her head down, she told her classmates to stay still" because she was also worried about the safety of the other students.
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training assessed that this is a serious incident, affecting the safety and health of teachers; negatively affecting the educational environment and the tradition of "respecting teachers and valuing education" of our nation; contrary to the regulations of the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training on building a safe, healthy, friendly pedagogical environment and preventing school violence.
The Ministry of Education and Training requested the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to learn from experience and direct schools, especially Dai Kim Secondary School, to focus on building a safe, healthy, democratic pedagogical environment without school violence.
In addition, the Ministry requires focusing on moral education, awareness of law compliance, and respect for teachers for students; doing a good job of school psychological counseling, early detecting cases of students showing abnormal psychological signs so that families can take appropriate care and education measures; improving the management and operation capacity of the Board of Directors, proactively and taking measures to handle unsafe situations in schools; promptly detecting and preventing student misconduct; closely coordinating with students' families and local authorities to ensure school safety.
