What are the current salaries of teachers at all levels?

VTC NewsVTC News21/10/2024

According to the new salary table applied from July 1 (after increasing the basic salary from 1.8 to 2.34 million VND/month), preschool teachers grade III are currently the group receiving the lowest salary, from about 4.9 to 11.4 million VND/month, depending on the level (not including allowances and seniority).

Primary, secondary and high school teachers of grade I receive the highest salaries. Among them, those with a salary coefficient of 6.78 receive a salary of nearly 16 million VND/month (excluding allowances and seniority).

Current salaries of teachers at all levels are specifically as follows:

What are the current salaries of teachers at all levels? - 1
What are the current salaries of teachers at all levels? - 2
What are the current salaries of teachers at all levels? - 3
What are the current salaries of teachers at all levels? - 4

Formula for calculating teachers' general income: Income level = Basic salary x salary coefficient + allowance + seniority.

For teachers, depending on their position and place of work, each person can receive one or several allowances: seniority allowance (5% after 5 years of work, plus 1% each year), career incentives (25-50%), position allowance, seniority allowance exceeding the framework, special allowances for teachers who are artisans, teachers of the disabled, teachers working in areas with especially difficult conditions.

In the Draft Law on Teachers, which will be presented and commented on at the upcoming National Assembly session, the Ministry of Education and Training proposes that teachers' salaries be ranked highest in the administrative and career salary scale system. The Ministry also proposes to raise teachers' salaries by one level when ranking starting salaries.

Explaining this, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training said that according to a survey, among the teachers who have quit their jobs recently, up to 61% are under 35 years old and one of the reasons for this situation is low income, not enough to cover living needs. Meanwhile, young people have many things to worry about such as supporting themselves, taking care of their children, and the need to study to improve their qualifications.

At the same time, the salary of teachers with less than 5 years of experience is currently very low. That is the reason why the Ministry of Education and Training proposed to raise the starting salary of teachers by 1 level, in order to encourage young people to enter the teaching profession. This is also part of realizing the goal of the highest salary for teachers in the salary scale.
