According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , as of December 2023, the total poultry flock in our country is nearly 559 million, an increase of 3.3% compared to 2022, including poultry raised for meat and egg-laying poultry.

Total poultry meat output for the whole year is estimated at nearly 2.31 million tons, up 6%; poultry egg output in 2023 is estimated at 19.22 billion eggs, up 5.2% over the same period in 2022.

Notably, our country's poultry eggs (fresh and processed eggs) have been exported to dozens of countries and territories around the world . However, poultry egg exports only account for about 1% of the country's total egg volume, the rest is to serve domestic consumption needs.

Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest poultry population in the world. Therefore, egg-laying poultry farming still has a lot of room when our country's egg consumption in 2030 is expected to reach 250 eggs/person. Along with that, export opportunities for Vietnam's egg industry are also expanding as we have signed many trade agreements, traditional markets are reopening.

At the end of July 2023, after more than 4 years, the Hong Kong market (China) lifted the ban and allowed the import of eggs and poultry egg products from Tay Ninh, Binh Duong , Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces.

In addition, recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has completed negotiations on the export of poultry meat and poultry eggs to Mongolia. In the context of poultry farming in Mongolia accounting for a very low proportion. Therefore, this is a potential market. Vietnamese poultry egg products will have many advantages when accessing this market.
