According to the Miss Universe Vietnam Organizing Committee, the contest has a big change when only awarding two titles, Miss and Runner-up, to the Top 2 in the final night. At the press conference announcing the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 contest, Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang - Head of the Organizing Committee also explained that the contest was "bold, separate from the general flow" when only choosing the Top 2 finalists: "In the context, the current trend has many titles, we want to help the audience remember more easily, and at the same time contribute to "reducing" the titles. In my opinion, a prestigious contest is a contest that creates Miss and Runner-up titles that must have their own place and they must have their own development when mentioned, everyone must remember. Every year there will be more Miss and Runner-up, so we focus on the Top 2 Miss Universe Vietnam. Because whether or not they have the opportunity to compete internationally, they will have the opportunity to develop their own careers."

It is known that Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 - H'Hen Nie and Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 - Nguyen Tran Khanh Van will take on the role of judges for the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 contest. Notably, the audience will become the official judges of Miss Universe Vietnam when this contest applies new technology. "The audience plays the role of an official jury member, voting for the title of "Most Favorite Contestant" through the program's voting portal. In particular, this is the first time the voting portal has been open throughout the final night, the voting scores will contribute to the judges' scoring system, from which the winner of the contest will be selected. Artificial intelligence technology with a virtual assistant appears throughout the contact points with fans," said the Organizing Committee of Miss Universe Vietnam.

Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 Contest Schedule

Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 (Miss Cosmo Vietnam) will take place from July 1 to December 23. The preliminary round will start in early October 2023, the semi-finals and finals will take place from November 1 to December 23. After the preliminary round, the Top 60 contestants will participate in the filming of the reality TV show "I am Miss Universe Vietnam" for one month.

Notably, the two sub-competitions are the Universal Mascot Design and the National Costume Design Selection (newly named the National Culture Promotion Project) with the theme Future Inspiration.
