Coach Luis Enrique spent the entire first half of the match against Atalanta watching from the stands before returning to the bench in the second half, in PSG's resounding 4-0 victory over the Italian side in the 2025-2026 Champions League.
In an interview with Canal Plus, the Spanish tactician explained his surprising decision. "I did it because from above I could see a lot of useful information that I could use during the break. Having more data was very important to me," he said.
"The feeling of sitting high up watching the match is completely different. Thanks to that perspective, my tactics in the match against Lens at halftime also changed significantly," he shared.
Luis Enrique said this method helps him have a more comprehensive and objective view of the game, a common practice in rugby.

Despite his left arm still being immobilized after a recent collarbone injury, coach Enrique is constantly looking for ways to innovate to make PSG more unpredictable than ever.
"I'm always thinking about how to add something new and I'm ready to try any method that can help the team progress," the Spanish coach affirmed.
This unique training method has more or less shown a positive change for the French team. In the last 2 matches, PSG won both with a difference in score and did not concede any goals (won Lens 2-0, and won Atalanta 4-0).
