From December 1, 2025, Vietnam Airlines will launch a direct flight from Hanoi to Cebu (Philippines) with a frequency of 3 flights/week using Airbus A321 aircraft.

This is the airline's first direct flight connecting Vietnam with the famous coastal city of Cebu, marking an important step in its strategy to expand its flight network in Southeast Asia.

Cebu is known as the “island paradise” of the Philippines with its turquoise waters, long white sand beaches and rich marine ecosystem. Besides its natural landscape, Cebu is also a historical and cultural center, home to many ancient architectural works, and is also a gateway to explore other famous destinations such as Bohol, Mactan or Malapascua. With a flight time of only about 3 hours from Hanoi, passengers can enjoy a short, experience-rich vacation conveniently and easily.

Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines officially entered into a codeshare agreement from October 26 to enhance connectivity for passengers traveling between Vietnam and Singapore.

Adding Cebu to the network not only brings another attractive option for Vietnamese tourists, but also affirms Vietnam Airlines' pioneering role in connecting ASEAN countries, contributing to promoting tourism , trade and cultural exchange between the two countries.

To celebrate the opening, Vietnam Airlines is offering many special promotions. Round-trip Economy Class tickets start from VND5,664 million, Business Class from VND24,44 million (including taxes and fees). Customers who buy tickets early until February 28, 2026 for departures from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026 will enjoy this preferential price. In addition, passengers will receive an additional free piece of luggage, while Lotusmiles members will receive an additional 1,000 to 2,000 bonus miles depending on the class of seat.

The route between Hanoi and Cebu is expected to attract a steady flow of passengers in both directions. From the Philippines, tourists and businessmen come to Vietnam for sightseeing and work. In the opposite direction, more and more Vietnamese passengers choose Cebu and the Philippines for travel, study or work.

Flights between Hanoi and Cebu will be operated regularly by Airbus A321 fleet, meeting international 4-star aviation service standards. Passengers no longer have to transfer for 6 to 8 hours, but only need a direct flight of 3 hours, with baggage checked only once, saving time and bringing peace of mind for the journey.

This new route also demonstrates Vietnam Airlines' pioneering role in implementing Resolution 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation.

Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said: “The Hanoi-Cebu route is a clear demonstration of our commitment to expanding regional aviation connectivity, bringing passengers convenient experiences and superior quality. This new route also demonstrates Vietnam Airlines' pioneering role in implementing Resolution 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation, contributing to enhancing tourism cooperation, trade and cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Philippines, bringing Vietnam closer to international friends.”

Currently, Vietnam Airlines is operating 9 regular flights per week from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the capital Manila. The addition of 3 direct flights per week from Hanoi to Cebu brings the total number of flights operated by Vietnam Airlines between Vietnam and the Philippines to 12 flights per week. This not only expands the flight network, but also gives passengers more options when traveling to the Philippines, while demonstrating Vietnam Airlines' role in connecting the region and promoting the image of Vietnam to the world.

In 2025, on the 30th anniversary of its establishment, Vietnam Airlines continues to affirm its mission as an important aviation bridge in the region, expanding the country's "soft border" through an international flight network, accompanying Vietnam's integration and development process.
