On October 8, the Michelin travel guide announced the Michelin Key global hotel ranking list.

According to Michelin, Vietnam has made an impressive debut in the Michelin Key list with 13 hotels honored. Of these, two hotels achieved 3 Michelin Keys, three hotels achieved 2 Michelin Keys and eight hotels achieved 1 Michelin Key.

The Vietnamese hotels that made the list are spread across the country, from beach resorts to mountain and rural stays.

The highest rated and rated hotels are Capella Hanoi Hotel and Amanoi Resort (Khanh Hoa) with the highest level: 3 Michelin Key. This category is described by Michelin as for places that offer "outstanding accommodation experiences".

Capella Hanoi Hotel, located on Le Phung Hieu Street, was designed by architect Bill Bensley, inspired by opera houses of the 1920s. This 47-room hotel combines French architecture with local cultural details. This was once where the Korean band BlackPink stayed when performing concerts in Hanoi .

Amanoi Resort is located in a great location with views of Vinh Hy Bay. It consists of villas and pavilions with private pools, offering guests a "luxurious tranquility" experience.

Three resorts that achieved 2 Michelin Keys in the "excellent accommodation experience" category include: Four Seasons The Nam Hai (Da Nang), Banyan Tree Lang Co Resort (Hue City) and Zannier Bai San Ho (Dak Lak).

8 hotels with 1 Michelin Key include Azerai Ke Ga Bay (Lam Dong), Legacy Mekong (Can Tho), Six Senses Con Dao (HCMC), Sofitel Legend Metropole (Hanoi), Park Hyatt Saigon (HCMC), Six Senses Ninh Van Bay (Khanh Hoa), Regent Phu Quoc (An Giang) and Hotel de la Coupole - MGallery (Lao Cai).

Michelin Key is Michelin's new rating system for the accommodation sector, previously tourists often knew Michelin stars for cuisine.

The evaluation was conducted by anonymous experts based on five criteria, including: the hotel is a gateway to the journey of discovering the destination; excellent interior design and architecture; quality and consistency in service, comfort and maintenance; consistency between the quality of experience and price; affirming its own identity, reflecting personality and authenticity.

The criteria focus on the overall accommodation experience rather than just amenities, aiming to set new international standards.

Ranking levels:

1 Key - a special stay experience.

2 Key - great stay experience.

3 Key - excellent stay experience (highest level).

In the Southeast Asia region, Thailand has 62 ranked hotels, Indonesia has 33 hotels and Malaysia has 4 hotels honored in this announcement.

Recognition from Michelin is expected to create a new quality race among accommodation establishments, not only in the 5-star segment but also spreading to other segments.

Vietnam has two 3 Michelin Key hotels, a testament to the country's growing reputation for world-class hospitality.
