Expanding the application of atomic energy to serve socio-economic development

According to the Department of Science and Technology, in the context of atomic energy being increasingly widely applied in many fields such as medicine, industry, agriculture and scientific research, ensuring safe management, controlling nuclear radiation and improving incident response capacity is a vital task, not only for the energy sector but also for national security and safety.

The workshop aimed to assess the current status of nuclear energy application in the fields of industry, agriculture, medicine and environment in Da Nang city.

Identify the potential, development orientation and expansion of applications of atomic energy to serve local socio -economic development; at the same time propose appropriate scientific and technological solutions and policies to promote the effective and safe application of atomic energy.

The workshop listened to presentations related to the application of nuclear energy in industry, agriculture, medicine and the environment.

Specifically, promoting the application of atomic energy for peaceful purposes to serve the country's development in the new period; applying atomic energy in medicine at Cho Ray Hospital; applying rare earth micronutrient fertilizers in medicinal plant cultivation, impacts and orientations for Da Nang city; national environmental radiation warning monitoring network, current status and recommendations; developing and training human resources in the field of atomic energy; training in technical physics to serve nuclear energy human resources.
