At the awards ceremony at the Manchester Opera House on the evening of August 20, Mohamed Salah became the Premier League Player of the Year 2025 as voted by the PFA.

The Egyptian striker became the first player in history to "score a hat-trick" of this title (after the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons) when he contributed to 29 goals and 18 assists last season to help Liverpool win the Premier League title.
The title also gave Liverpool the most players in the Premier League Team of the Year, including captain Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah.

Arsenal, the team that finished second once again, contributed three names including central defender duo William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and midfielder Declan Rice.
The remaining four names in the Premier League squad are Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez (now at Liverpool), Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, goalkeeper Matz Sels and Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood.
Notably, this time the Premier League's best squad completely lacked players from Man Utd and Man City, and it was even more ironic that the awards ceremony took place at the Manchester Opera House.
Man Utd is more disappointing when this is the third consecutive year they have not had any players in the Premier League's best squad list, when the last player voted for was "veteran" Cristiano Ronaldo (2021-22 season).

Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers was voted Young Player of the Year, while Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford (who recently returned to Man City) was the Championship Player of the Year after keeping 29 clean sheets.
