Prime Minister praises forces for destroying drug trafficking ring of more than 777kg

(Dan Tri) - Professional units of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security have dismantled a drug trafficking ring transporting more than 777kg of drugs from abroad into Vietnam and have just received a letter of commendation from the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just sent a letter of commendation to the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control, the Border Guard Command (Ministry of National Defense) and the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) for dismantling a ring that illegally bought and transported 777.7 kg of drugs from abroad into Vietnam.

On September 21, the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control, the Border Guard Command and the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with the Border Guard Commands of Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Tinh provinces and the Police of Phu Tho and Dong Nai provinces to successfully fight against Project A825p.

The project successfully dismantled a transnational drug trafficking and transportation ring from foreign countries into Vietnam in large quantities.

The authorities arrested and detained 20 subjects, seized 777.7 kg of synthetic drugs and many related exhibits and documents, ensuring absolute safety.

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister warmly congratulated, commended and highly appreciated the special achievements and feats of the forces.

According to the head of the Government, this achievement demonstrates the spirit of initiative, determination in attacking and suppressing crime, bravery, intelligence, cleverness, and close and effective coordination between the Army and Police forces in the fight against drug crimes.

This contributes to maintaining political security, social order and safety, and protecting the peaceful and happy life of the people.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to promptly commend and propose worthy rewards for groups and individuals directly involved in solving the case.

On the other hand, units need to organize extensive propaganda, learn from and follow the spirit of determination and resoluteness in fighting and preventing crime of Border Guard and Police units; at the same time, continue to direct forces to step up the fight against all types of crime, especially transnational drug crimes, to prevent drugs from entering Vietnam.
