One concert, many emotions

Witnessing idols in person and interacting with people with the same passion… helps many young people enrich their emotions.

Full of joy

Lately, concert ticket hunting has become a battle. For famous artists’ performances, fans have to wait in line early to get the best seats. To limit this situation, recent events have applied queue numbers when issuing tickets.

The desire to see their idols at the closest distance is the motivation that makes many young people wait patiently. After finishing his morning shift, Nguyen Hoai Lam (living in Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City) stopped by an internet shop to hunt for tickets for a concert that opened at 12 o'clock. To get a good position, this young man born in the 90s had to hunt for tickets with the smallest queue number possible. This required a strong internet connection and quick operations on the computer. Lam's efforts were finally rewarded when the ticket system returned a two-digit queue number.

On the day of the concert, Lam was one of the first 55 people to enter the stadium. Seeing their idols up close brought an indescribable feeling to fans. If they were lucky, the audience would also receive friendly interactions from their idols: waving, smiling, or even taking selfies… For Lam, this was not only a reward for their patience but also a moment filled with joy.

Fandoms also express their personal style and love for artists through careful investment in costumes, makeup, and hair. Recently, Phu Tho Stadium (HCMC) hosted a concert by a famous Korean boy band. The entire space around the stage was covered in blue - the typical color of this group's fandom. Thousands of fans wore blue clothes and accessories, ready to meet their idols.

Although the concert officially started at 5 p.m., Thanh Tam (born in 1996, residing in Soc Trang ) and her friends were there from 1 p.m. to take photos. The organizers and fandom had arranged many impressive large-sized photo booths. Having "followed idols" in many countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Korea..., Tam shared: "K-pop concerts are not only art performances but also an opportunity to meet people with similar interests."

Community Connection

For a segment of young people, concerts create opportunities for them to connect with the community. Before the event, fans often participate in projects to prepare fan-made items (bags, fans, rounded-corner cards, etc.), promotional campaigns on social networks, outdoor LED screen advertising, banner printing, etc. Arranging letters with LED lights at concerts to convey messages and create surprises is also a "specialty" of Vietnamese fandom. These activities make fans feel like they are part of the success of the concert. The performances are elaborately staged with music , choreography, costumes and classy stages. Most notable is the interaction between idols and fans.

Phuong Boi (from Tien Giang) is very diligent in "hunting" for tickets to Super Junior's concerts and is extremely excited about the high-quality live performances. The words "Hello", "Thank you", "I love you"... or simply calling out the names of the dishes "pho", "banh mi", hu tieu", "bun cha" in the recent "SUPER SHOW SPIN-OFF: Halftime" created closeness and friendliness. Fans jokingly said that Super Junior has "dissolved" into Vietnamese cuisine. As leader Lee Teuk expected: "If you have back pain, fatigue, stress, please leave it all here and go home", the concert ended with a positive impact on the spirit of young people. The joyful emotions from the event helped the audience to be happy, relax, and reduce daily stress and anxiety. "The dedication and effort of the artists for more than 2 hours on stage inspired the fans" - Phuong Boi confided.
