According to historical documents, the Forward Surgical Station in Phong Thai ward had tunnels dug 1.8-2m underground; 1.5m wide, 8-10m long.
The surgical station was established with the mission of providing emergency aid, caring for wounded soldiers, burying martyrs and being an important base in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising. This place marked the sacrifice of 33 martyrs in the battle on March 12, 1975 along with the brutal crimes of the enemy.
In 2018, the Forward Surgical Station was ranked as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city).
According to historical records, Dang Van Hoa (1791-1856), alias Le Trai, was the second son of Dang Quang Tuan, a famous teacher in the capital city of Phu Xuan under the Tay Son dynasty.
His tomb is located at Con Lenh cemetery, Pho Lai village, Phong Thai ward, ranked as a provincial historical relic since 2013.

He passed the first regional examination held in 1813, under King Gia Long. Dang Van Hoa was a "Venerable of the Four Dynasties", serving as an official for nearly 40 years, under the reigns of Gia Long, Minh Mang, Thieu Tri, and Tu Duc.
In the Nguyen Dynasty, he successively held the position of Minister, head of the 5 Ministries of Finance, Rites, Military, Justice, and Public Works, and was famous for being a very honest mandarin. During his nearly 40 years as a high-ranking mandarin, he did many things to benefit the country and people in the fields of politics, agriculture, and culture.

Located about 2.5km from Dang Van Hoa's tomb is the national historical site of the tomb of patriotic Confucian scholar Dang Huy Tru (Photo: Vi Thao).
According to researchers, in Hue, in addition to the famous Dang Van Hoa, there were also Dang Huy Ta, Dang Huy Tru, Dang Huy Cat, Dang Huu Pho, etc. who studied well and became high-ranking officials.
Dang Huu Pho (son of the royal son-in-law Dang Huy Cat and princess Tinh Hoa) was the grandson of the famous Dang Van Hoa, and the patriotic Confucian scholar Dang Huy Tru called Dang Van Hoa his uncle.
To date, many works of this family have been ranked as national relics, such as Dang Huy Tru Church (Kim Tra ward), Dang Huy Tru tomb (Phong Thai ward) and Dang Huu Pho tomb (Dan Dien commune), all in Hue city.
