The victim was Mr. Poloong Nhuong, born in 1977, Head of A Tu 1 village, Hung Son commune. Mr. Nhuong had the accident while on his way home after tending crops in the field.
Previously, at around 6:30 p.m. the same day, people discovered Mr. Nhuong lying unconscious on the side of the road, with many wounds suspected to be caused by wild animals, so they mobilized forces to carry him back to the village for initial first aid. At around 7 p.m., after receiving the report, Hung Son Commune Police coordinated with medical forces to take the victim to Ch'Om Commune Health Station for continued first aid.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Bhnướch Den, after first aid, it was found that the victim was seriously injured by a bear attack on the face and lower jaw, and had lost a lot of blood, so the Commune Police contacted the Tay Giang Regional Medical Center to request an ambulance to A Tu 1 village to take the victim to the center for treatment. Currently, Mr. Nhuong is conscious and is being actively monitored and cared for by doctors and nurses.
Hung Son commune authorities recommend that people limit going to the fields alone, especially in the evening; at the same time, coordinate with authorities to monitor traces of wild bears in the area to ensure people's safety.
