Floods caused damage in some localities in the province.

Due to the influence of the high-altitude wind convergence zone, on the night of June 20 and early morning of June 21, the province experienced moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. Some areas experienced floods or landslides, causing damage to traffic and housing.

Rainfall measured at some stations is as follows: Kim Son (Bao Yen) 95.2 mm; Coc Ly (Bac Ha) 87.8 mm; Ban Xen (Muong Khuong) 87.4 mm.

According to statistics from the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Lao Cai province, as of the afternoon of June 21, floods had affected 6 houses (1 house in Lung Vai commune, Muong Khuong district was damaged by landslides; 5 houses in Lien Ha 5 village, Bao Ha commune, Bao Yen district were flooded).

The traffic route to landmark 108, Na Loc 4 village, Ban Lau commune (Muong Khuong) was completely covered by landslides.

The inter-commune road Bao Nhai - Nam Det (Bac Ha) had landslides at 3 points, causing traffic disruption.

Regarding agricultural production, floods have broken and buried 2.4 hectares of rice (Muong Khuong 1.75 hectares; Bac Ha 0.67 hectares; some vegetable areas have not been assessed because the water has not fully receded); 1 irrigation project in Ban Lap Ha village (Nam Det commune, Bac Ha district) had its main dam broken; 1 buffalo in Kim Son commune was swept away by flood.

Many houses in Lien Ha 5 village, Bao Ha commune were flooded.

Regarding traffic, heavy rains and floods caused landslides at some points on National Highway 4D (Km 163+700, km 164+800), the section passing through Muong Khuong district; Provincial Road 154 (in Ban Lau commune), Provincial Road 161 (in Bao Ha commune) and some inter-commune and rural roads were eroded or damaged.

In particular, the Bao Nhai - Nam Det inter-commune road (Bac Ha) had a positive slope landslide at 3 locations with a volume of over 300 m3 of earth and rock, causing traffic disruption; it has been repaired and the first phase of the route was opened at 4:00 p.m. on June 21.

At 4:00 p.m. on June 21, the landslide point on the inter-commune road Bao Nhai - Nam Det (Bac Ha) was opened to traffic in step 1.

Immediately after the disaster occurred, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the districts directed specialized agencies and People's Committees of communes and towns to mobilize forces to support households to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.
